Does lightning strike the same spot twice? Well after the success of last year's return staging of Art@Dean in the summer of 2010 we all seriously wondered if it did. In the event, it turned out to be as successful as the previous year's event with more Artist's work on display and almost the same final contribution to make to the All Hallows' heating system despite current economic climate.
Just as at last years Show, it was a truly village event. There were numerous volunteers offering their support both in the set up and the stewarding of the event itself and a number of local Sponsors who contributed to the costs of the Show.
Once again it was Marian Limb and Stephen Hall who provided the underlying impetus for the organisation and set up of the Show ably assisted by Stephen's wife Paula, Sally Jenkinson and John Braga.
The village helpers included Jackie Ashbie, Ruth and Katie Holmes, who hung all the artworks so brilliantly to a very demanding time scale, with the setting finished off by Lyndsay Langley amd Leslie Gray’s superb flower arrangements throughout the Church.
The Dean Ladies provided their excellent refreshments both at the Preview Evening and during the Show where they provided their teas and home made cakes throughout two very pleasant afternoons on the Vicarage Lawn. Again, a thank you to Martin Wilkinson and Rosemary Neale for the provision of the car parking field.
Over the event, the Stewards team of Anne Marriott, Charlotte Dowling, Jill Holden, Louise Jones, Margaret Weston, Sue Morgan, Andy & Mandy Pippard, Mike Muncaster, John & Jo Cordell, Rosemary Hallworth, Roy Shutz, Barbara Baker, Anna Peck, Tony Verney, Jackie Ashby, Tony Hough, Annette Brooks, Abi Isserlis, Jane Russell, Val Short, Scott Findlay, Rosmary Neale , Annie Wallis made sure that all ran smoothly every day.
A sincere thank you to all who assisted and attended and see more of you next year.

All Hallows Church once again provided an ideal venue for the Art@Dean Show, with alcoves, ailes and chapels offering ideal viewing areas.

Art@Dean2011 provided an exceptional range of items on display; painting in oils, acrylics and watercolours, superb hand made jewellery, prints and cards displaying the work of the Artists, photography, woodcraft bowls, dishes and fruit.
