Images of a Rural English village

This is photographic expression of the joy of just an ordinary English village expressed through the photographs taken by its inhabitants. It could be almost anywhere. It has no great historic heritage apart from the fact that it has survived for over 7oo years. As a village, it has no particularly impressive amenities, and no landmarks or historic monuments of any importance - it has just one pub, no shops, but two churches which I suppose that makes it part of God's country. It's the kind of place that normally you would just pass through - except for the fact that it is not on the way to - or back from anywhere else of any significance. But as is usually such situations, it is what you do not see that the photographer does - it's the behind the scenes views that really work.
Each of the pages of this site features the work of one of the village's many photographers working within the confines of the village - there are no special technical requirements, there is no specification or limitation on the equipment they have available. But the modern digital camera in almost any one of its great variety of forms, is a great leveller, and the computer its great ally. Together they disguise inexperience and encourage creative experimentation. Enjoy.
