Brownies

2010 will celebrate the Centenary of Guiding. We will be celebrating throughout the year in many ways - parties, special challenges, lots of badges and also lots of fun.

Membership is open to girls between 7 and 11 years old and are members of Girlguiding UK, the largest voluntary organisation for girls in this country. They wear Brownie clothes, make a promise and have fun at Brownie meetings and take part in indoor and outdoor activities which include games, crafts and songs which challenge them to do their best.

There are opportunities for Brownies to take part in special events and activities throughout the year including a Brownie Holiday residential weekend.

Brownie packs charge termly subs to cover running costs and an extra annual subscription is charged and paid to Girlguiding UK. An extra charge is made for other events where appropriate

The 1st Upper Dean Brownies meet on Tuesdays during term time from 6pm to 7:30pm in the Dalton Hall, Upper Dean.

Dean Under 5's

Grasshoppers

Set in the tranquil and leafy village of Upper Dean, Grasshoppers provides a wonderful environment for children aged 21/2 - 5yrs to learn through play. Established for over 15 years, this much-loved pre-school is rated highly by Ofsted who comment that 'children are happy, secure and settled'.

Tots & Toddlers

Tots and Toddlers runs on a drop-in basis for children aged 0-5yrs. A wide variety of toys and craft activities are available during this session. Parents/carers enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat.

Wednesday 9.00am - 1.00pm

£2.00 charge/family to cover drinks/activitie
